On October the 25th, which is a Saturday, I will be hosting a party along with my friends from Outer Fandom at MileHiCon. I selected Gormenghast as a theme last year. This isn't the final word in what the party will be based on, but I figured why delay in dreaming about what sort of drinks would be served at such a party. I'm guessing wine, probably medium dry to sweet. But that's just a vague thought. So I would love to hear what people think would be fun to have at a room party.

My other thought right now would be to have some sort of cider and some juices that vodka could be added to. And also maybe a bottle of Tokay to be served out in small glasses.

I've never seen the BBC production of Gormenghast, but read the original novels in high school.

Definitely, if you're goinng to have a Gormenghast party, serve *depressants*. Alchohol's a good one. Maybe little black sugar pills labeled "ANGST" and "FEAR" and "GLOOM".

Am I just remembering the books wrong? :^D

Well there is a certain element of angst in the books I suppose. I've only read Titus Groan I really ought to read Gormenghast and Titus Alone. But the setting of the first two books is fantastic and I was thinking it would be fun to do a party with that sort of theme going on.
