It is coming to the end of the season. Well, to be honest, gardening never ends. During the winter there are still days when plants and trees get watered, weeds get pulled, and fire is set to send heroes fleeing in terror as the flames race after them in the tall grass. … Not that I would do that last one.

Today the weather is closing in and the yard had to be checked for stray tools and plants that need settling in for the quiet months. Tiny flakes of snow are falling out of a billowy grey sky. The weather makes me think of hot tea and soup.
