It would appear that the computer I have been using, an old Mac Mini, is dead. No power light, no cheerful startup noise, no indicators, just not working. I have no idea what when wrong. One moment on and working the next was no power. It died very suddenly. Everything else plugged in is fine as far as I can tell, just my computer.

Well, first off I'd try a different power cord. It probably isn't your power cord, but trying a different one is easy enough to do that it's worth a try.

After that, I guess it's time to box it up and take it by the apple store and see if they can figure anything out?

Good luck with that... is it your only computer?

Unfortunately Mac is "think different" so it has an external proprietary power supply. It has been my only computer since my PC got so old it is no long internet capable. I think I shall limp by for a while until I can come up with a good course of action. I had been thinking of buying a new one, but this has brought me up short. Working on my iPhone for now.

I've got a mac mini at home, so I could lend you a cord.

That said, I could possibly lend you a computer for a while.

A loaner would be great because my hesitation is all about thinking that a new Mini will be out next month and not wanting to buy a new computer that will be a generation behind practically a day later. Much of my library of files is on an external drive. Not everything, unfortunately. I hope there will be some sort of way to get my email archive off the mini. Nothing urgent that I do, I think.
