Kale, From My Garden!

Despite it being a week from Christmas I just harvested a huge amount of kale from my garden and put it into a soup. The soup did not turn out too bad, though the yellow beans are a bit underdone. Perhaps I should have chucked them in the slow cooker in the morning to get them soft before introducing them to the broth. Ah well. Still very tasty.

But still, fresh greens from my garden in December! This is a strange year.

I really enjoy kale, both raw and cooked, but have discovered the smell of kale can be off-putting if one keeps the raw ones around in the refrigerator for more that two days. (This should tell me something about getting smaller amounts of kale and using it up quickly, I suppose.)

As for the creepiness strangeness of this year's scary warmth; definitely makes my skin crawl, but then perhaps I'm a bit obsessive about the whole global warming thing.

Yes small amounts at a time. I got mine in just before snow today so there may not be any more depending on the weather in the next week.
