First Draft Target Letter
Jul. 30th, 2010 12:44 pmHello Target,
I am writing in response to the recent news about your entry into politics, specifically your donation to Minnesota Forward. While it is legal to do so I think it is not right that corporations contribute to campaigns to defeat or elect specific candidates. Particularly in this case as the candidate has a very bad record on human rights. Because I perceived Target as different than other retailers, more committed to issues like human rights I chose to shop at Target even when it was more expensive or less convenient than other retail options like Wal*Mart. While other retailers are no better today I now have considerable doubt if putting myself out to shop at your stores is the best choice for me to advance human rights both in America and in the world. You have not lost me as a customer in all cases, but you've lost my loyalty though retailers like Costco and K-Mart still have it for now.
Yours,
