mishalakHere is the idea. If you like a mixed drink (or two) with friends (new or old) and you live in Denver then you should RSVP for the Cosmopolitan Friends Seminar. What? It is a relaxed learning experience, a social get together, and most importantly a fun Saturday evening. Why? Because it will be less expensive and more fun than going out to a bar. At a bar ten bucks will get you two mixed drinks or three beers... maybe a bit more if it's happy hour. Plus it will be too loud to hear any of the nice witty people there with you.
Whereas drinking here eight dollars will be enough for twice as many drinks, plus the potluck nibbly things, the music will complement your witty repartee instead of overwhelming it, and I'll have the lowdown about what is good, bad, and indifferent about what we're drinking. Where we live is one of the minor hubs of the RTD bus system so can get home without cars if they want to and we have some crash space (one couch, one futon, and one fold out mattress thing) as well.
And with this name it has to be kicked off with Cosmos, one of the most popular of mixed drinks. It is vodka, triple sec or cointreau, fresh lime juice, and cranberry juice. And there are all sorts of variants. Plus there are a few other drinks that use similar ingredients. And if you don't like cosmos you can bring something else or come anyway knowing that next time we'll have something different.
So now we come to the how. If you live in Denver or are traveling through Denver on Saturday September 13th, leave a message here or in email. (If you don't live in Denver you'll have to copy my idea in your own town because I don't have the money to take this show on the road, more's the pitty.) Show up after 4pm and things will really get started at 5pm or so. Bring eight dollars ($8) to cover the cost of the drinks and anything additional you feel like sharing.
