Weird idea. Spike was in New York city in 1977 and killed a slayer. What if he stayed in town a while and took in a Broadway show? Specifically one with lots of gory action that came out not more than two years later. I cannot help but think he'd like it a lot.

'79 or '77?

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street opened March 1, 1979. I recently found a torrent of an audio recording of Hal Prince and Stephen Sondheim doing a "backer's audition" to solicit investment from '78. The recording quality is painful, but it's an intriguing listen.

Funny, Sweeney Todd is the one I immediately thought of as well, but couldn't remember the date it opened.

What, he wouldn't stick around for year and change after killing the slayer? It's just so close in time and space that the thought amused me.
