Coming Down

I have not been posting publicly to livejournal for a while. One part principle to avoid generating content they can advertise on (I paid for this journal, damn it!), protest against content policy changes/problems, and being worried that public posts could get me into trouble due to occasional frank postings about gay sex and literature about the same. But I've been wondering lately if it isn't silly. So a poll. Everyone loves a poll.

Date: 2008-02-22 04:21 am (UTC)Principles are only as good as their results. Stiff necked adherence to a principle that is not working as it should in theory is a sign of a limited mind.

Date: 2008-02-22 04:00 am (UTC)Selfish reason: If it's on LJ, it's easier to refer some of my other friends to your postings so they can appreciate the wonder of the Mishalak. ;-)

Date: 2008-02-22 04:42 am (UTC)(FWIW, the lj posts are easier for me via the Friends List, and I don't hunt up the other site often enough to remain _au courante_, but that's no Big Deal.)

Date: 2008-02-22 05:23 am (UTC)For me, coming back was the right move. But I'm less controversial, and less principled, than a lot of people.

b) Oh, you were talking about public posts... Yeah, not so much with the useful, definitely with the principles etc. The great thing about LJ is the *locked* content, and the discussion presentation model. But unlocked posts? Heck, I don't even have to use OpenID to read those via RSS no matter where you post them.

Also, I see that the first choice is the only one in which you capitalized every word... is that because of the respect you have for your Unflexable[ sic] Principle? Or because you hope to attract people to telling you to abandon it? Or is it just one of those things I am overanalyzing at 4:00 in the morning?
