I have not been posting publicly to livejournal for a while. One part principle to avoid generating content they can advertise on (I paid for this journal, damn it!), protest against content policy changes/problems, and being worried that public posts could get me into trouble due to occasional frank postings about gay sex and literature about the same. But I've been wondering lately if it isn't silly. So a poll. Everyone loves a poll.

I miss your posts here. That's not reason enough to come back, especially given the principles involved. You should do what you want to.

You should be seeing all most posts if you are logged in. Perhaps that is not working as it should though.

Principles are only as good as their results. Stiff necked adherence to a principle that is not working as it should in theory is a sign of a limited mind.

I have been logged in and seeing those posts; I've just had this sense that I'm supposed to be going somewhere else to see other things, and, I admit, my stress levels are high enough that I'm just not tracking on who's doing what where.

I read all your stuff anyway, so I could also click 'makes no difference' for that reason.
Selfish reason: If it's on LJ, it's easier to refer some of my other friends to your postings so they can appreciate the wonder of the Mishalak. ;-)

Well I'm all for having my own cult/following. Nothing bad about that. Provided I'm not faking it to get popular.

That's why you have disciples/minions, silly!

I figure that, in this, you _should_ do whatever you feel like doing at the moment ... and that that's what you _will_ do, so I'm a bit bemused by your request for external input.

(FWIW, the lj posts are easier for me via the Friends List, and I don't hunt up the other site often enough to remain _au courante_, but that's no Big Deal.)

I chose "Clicky thing, because." lol Only because you need to go where you feel comfortable. I always read what you write and I would miss your posts if you completely left, but so far I get my fix of [livejournal.com profile] mishalak cause you post in both. =)

Tell us if you go somewhere else, please. (of course, I may have missed you doing so, as I was elsewhere myself for a while, and did miss some things during the transition.)

For me, coming back was the right move. But I'm less controversial, and less principled, than a lot of people.

Edit:

a) Nevermind, found it. =)

b) Oh, you were talking about public posts... Yeah, not so much with the useful, definitely with the principles etc. The great thing about LJ is the *locked* content, and the discussion presentation model. But unlocked posts? Heck, I don't even have to use OpenID to read those via RSS no matter where you post them.

Since I've enjoyed reading your posts here, I'd be happy to see you back, but I agree with folks who say you need to be comfortable with what you're doing. I have remained almost wilfully ignorant (no, make that deliberately ignorant) of all the lj politics, simply because I am Old and Tired, but that's no reason for others to take principled stands. All the best in deciding what y'all want to do!

uhm....that should have read 'No reason for others not to take principled stands.' Sigh.

Makes no real difference to me - but if you decide to leave LJ altogether, that will make me sad. Still, that's what bookmarks are for! ;-D

Well, in principle I support your right to choose how your content is presented, but I must admit I rarely take the time to read blogs from outside LJ. I read via my “friends” page, and you have been gracious enough to add me so I can see your locked posts. I would miss them if they were gone, my friends list is mostly about whom I allow to read my journal, you are one of only 2.5 lj-friends I regularly read all the way through.

Interesting to note that as of my voting, no one has voted “No”. I wonder who will be the first, if anyone does.

Also, I see that the first choice is the only one in which you capitalized every word... is that because of the respect you have for your Unflexable[ sic] Principle? Or because you hope to attract people to telling you to abandon it? Or is it just one of those things I am overanalyzing at 4:00 in the morning?
