The Ethical Pulse Pistol Slinger

I'm thinking of ordering a Pulse Pistol kit today. If I do I might just have it in time for Bubonicon. The thing is that I'm reluctant to do so since the ones I'm looking at are not authorized props and therefore it's morally questionable. The thing is that the Creation licensed props cost over $300 and they don't even have the features of lights or what have you of the illegal kits. Even the most expensive option with the removable cartage and the LEDs on the Strike Team site only costs $185 and the pistol kit on Dreamland only costs $70 if I wanted to go cheap. And I suspect I could put electronics in the unfinished item if I wanted to.

The other thing that worries me is that being fly by night operations, one wonders if they'll be around longer than it takes to accept a payment. Gah, why can't entertainment companies offer reasonably priced memorabilia?

So you're looking for something specific to Farscape? I can recommend Tullio Proni's toys at Isher Artifacts (http://www.isherartifacts.com/index.html). They're very good, though his own designs.

I think I've seen his work before at Worldcon, though he doesn't seem to build Farscape type Pulse Pistols on his web page. Very nifty stuff though. Maybe I could get away with one... I don't try to look exactly like John Crichton, just look nifty cool in a Farscape sort of way.

You might investigate the Proni's guns and lasers. Tulio makes a beautiful looking object - it isn't a prop but it will last forever. (Ishtar Artifacts.)
