A fellow Dasfan, [livejournal.com profile] gomeza, recently mentioned a parody on a list I lurk on. I have to share, it is a moral imperative. Plus I think many people here will be amused.

Houseplants of Gor. I love the net.

Isn't that funny? The best part is, I've never read any Gor books -- and now I don't need to!

I have not either. But I've read some gay S&M that was about that bad. Not having to read Gor is a good thing. Friends don't let friends read Gor!!

Oh, yeah. It's a classic, and never fails to make me smile.

(I once worked in a bookstore and had a big shouting argument with the manager, who felt that Norman's books should be stocked in the SF section rather than the Erotica section. /boggles/)

We had a Darkfriend Social here last April, and KJ read it out aloud. (That was an experience.) Some days later, I mentioned it to two friends, [livejournal.com profile] cerebrate and [livejournal.com profile] ceara. Ceara commented that she had heard about it twice already (from Cerebrate and from [livejournal.com profile] turnberryknkn, who had heard it from Cerebrate).

I've since bought a Gor book.

"Oh, woe," said the wose. "I will be well watered, will I nill I. My woot hairs will wot, my weaves will dwop, and I will surewy die!"

I'm really terribly sorry. I shouldn't have posted what I did.

What I should have posted is "Oh, woe," wept the wose.

Manager had only read the first one or two, I'll bet.

The first one or two *are* SF.

After that, it gets... um. Yeah.

I own two. One's an all-right SF story. The other one, I want to shoot. And I'm an advocate of not destroying books.

Wait a second here, you're new 'round these parts! Welcome. I'm against destroying books too, but I always end up throwing out L. Ron Hubbard books from the DASFA book box after a year. No one buys them.

Hee. You got linked, so I hopped.

I used to not see what the problem with Hubbard was, but then a friend ran into some stealth scientologists.
