Like a Rushing River...

Tumbling over itself.
On occasion I have accused myself (or been accused) of having the attention span of a gnat. But tonight I came up with a slightly more favorable explanation. I tend to think very deeply with a very concentrated focus. So when I speak or write sometimes I'll have been thinking too long and what I say will jump around. Or I'll have moved so far ahead of where I started I'll have forgotten my original thoughts. And so it'll look like I am a complete ditz.

So that's my excuse for when I've forgotten my point or why I even started rambling on a subject. And I've no idea what got me thinking about this on my way home from watching Queer Eye for the Straight Guy with my friends John and Robin. (Reminder to self, ask everyone if it is okay to use their full names or how they'd like to be identified.) It was a lot of fun watching, Robin especially liked when I was mocking the girlfriend on the show. She was being a bit demanding on her boyfriend and I called her a 'bitch'.

Fun show over all. Inspires me to go out and do something about my terrible living conditions. I need a better job so I can afford a better place to dwell. I want to be wicked cool... for a geek.

Actually, it made me want to hire them to spend a day with me. Since I'm not a straight guy, I doubt I'd be selected to be on the show.

You were right about the girlfriend, though: she was awful. Let's hope the boost he got will let him keep the new look and dump her.

I believe my friend Joe had the same reaction. "Need Queer Eye for the Gay Guy!" Me, I think I could do this for myself if I just had enough money to have a larger place to store all my junk (my current apartment is less than 300 square feet total) and had just a little more money to go clothes and shoes shopping. I've got the food, music, and style bits down.
