I have discovered a new dream. If I ever win the lottery I'll get myself a Lussino Ice Cream Maker by Musso. 1½ quart capacity, 100 watt machine that needs no ice and can turn out batch after batch without breaking down... It's apparently rated tops in reliability, though I was also temped by a ice cream maker by DeLonghi at only $400, $120 cheaper than the top of line model I'm lusting after. Maybe I could find a used one on E-bay before next year for a reasonable price...

Well until that glorious day (winning lottery or getting a super bargain) I'm going to have to bum or borrow enough machines for my party this Saturday. I've had problems in the past with machines using lesser motors. Last year I managed to destroy a Rival machine, which was old but hardly used. I suspect that trying to make two batches of ice cream in a row was just too much for the motor.

But by gosh I'll figure out a way to make at least two batches of ice cream and buy the rest for my party! Nothing shall stop me. Bwahahahaah!

What recipes do you like? I find that the Ben and Jerry's ice cream recipe book is flawless (at least as far as I've tested 'em).

I'm not sure if I covet a White Mountain hand crank model or not, but if it works well I would love one of those. I saw one used on E-Bay for about $120... I wish I had money right now. I wonder if anyone in local fandom has one...

I don't need one of the models with a built in freezer... but gosh it would be nifty! I'd totally be happy with a machine if it uses ice and salt as long as the motor won't break down. Hand cranking is nice in theory... but I don't think it would work for more than one batch.

I use my mom's recipes. They are modified and improved versions of the recipes in the book that came with the old Rival machine. Mum knows a thing or two about cooking so her version is very good. Perhaps I'll post the Honey Peach one on Friday. Oh and one recipe is totally my creation, it's a watermelon and strawberry fruit ice. No sugar, nothing but fruit and gelatin to help it come out with the proper granulation.
