Catching Up

Pridefest. So I went to Denver Pride with R______ who had never gone before. It was a revelation. Having someone along who was okay with the idea of random experiences and just seeing everything made it like actual fun. Better than that. Plus there was a small amount of drinking and as Anya very perceptively pointed out it "makes the sun shine a little brighter". Plus some other stuff that didn't apply as no one was boring at the Pub. I really do like Pints Pub. I rather wish there were a gay bar like that in town. Decent food, really good beer, and whiskey if you feel like being all adventurous and Hemingway like. It is becoming our Winchester (Sean of the Dead ref.).

So back to Pride. I signed a petition, signed up for a contest, and had a decent amount of fun followed by heading for home. It was part of a full and fun weekend.

This week R______ will be having a coming out party. Because he finally did. Yay! Thing is he wants me to pick a place since I'm like supposed to be experienced or something being that I've been out for nearly a decade now. Good gosh, I don't know a thing about bars. Prior to this coming weekend most of them have been too smokey for me to enjoy properly. So I'm going to guess JR's would be an okay place to visit.

In my copious lack of recent experience re:bars, all I can say is you probably need to think about what criteria you want in the bar--I'm guess that it be a primarily gay bar is higher on your list than mine, but whether you want dancing, cozy vs rowdy, live music or not, etc., are factors as well.
