It probably isn't my most brilliant move ever, but I'm having a big Bloody William tonight. That's triple sec, tequila, and cranberry juice and it is indeed named after my favorite vampire. I don't think I'm drinking excessively (but isn't that always a warning sign), but I had a truly rotten day and I feel like treating myself to two alcohol units. Rather a lot for someone of my size.

Wheee, I'm off to bed.

It's okay. I had a sea breeze-ish thing last night. (Vodka, OJ and cranberry juice) We're just trying to be hip and retro and bring back the cocktail hour. :-)

I don't think I can be hip. Well not a hipster certainly. Oh and any chance you might hit Outer Fandom tonight?

Have plans later on tonight, but thanks for asking! If things change, I might be there. :-)

That's cool. I just had a drink with no name, consisting of seltzer, Cran-Grape light, and Bacardi 151. Yay for cocktails!

Mmmmm seltzer. I love fizzy water.

Jeez! You are drinking more than usual, aren't you. What's going on?

On the other hand, it sounds like a great idea.

Not really more than usual. I'm just mentioning more than usual. I often have a drink with dinner every night. Especially if I've just opened a bottle of wine. Drink it quick before it goes off.

I disagree with the warning sign thing- I think it's more of a "cry for help." The intervention is on Tuesday.

Is one an alcoholic if he ONLY drinks before noon? It's technically no worse than drinking only after six. Why should everybody be on the same drinking schedule? As the saying goes: "its six o'clock Somewhere."

I suppose it is worse to start drinking before noon if the person keeps on drinking the rest of the day. That seems to be how many people drink.

Did the drink make you write bad poetry as well? Because a proper Bloody William should do that--lots of horrible verse.

Hurm, no it didn't. Maybe I need to up the dosage. Though I sometimes write maudlin prose under the influence.
