I made it official today. My boss was actually in the office and I'm quitting. HUZAH! I am that much closer to being quit of this fucking city. Yes, yes, yes! This is totally the right decision. Am no longer depressed!

Presuming that you will be returning to the City in the Mountains, I look forward to spending time with you.

When I get back to it, that is.

Congratulations - life's too short to be unhappy doing something you don't enjoy in a place you don't enjoy being.

If your going to move back to cold and snow in 4 seasons, have you thought on Minneapolis? Jobs are good and you know what ours fans are like... totaly wacko!

Yeah, but could I find a low stress job that I can fulfill with my very limited skill set?

But Denver is a safer bet; for one thing I have parental units there where I can crash in a comfortable room until I have a job. And having tried moving away I do not think I'll ever do it again. For better or worse, I'm a Coloradan until I die.

Unless the nutcases out of Fort Collins drive you out, anyway.

Unlikely. They'll have to storm the barricades I'll be manning with my friends in our tastefully militaristic purple berets.

Denver has four seasons, but they are thoughly mixed. A week of winter, two days of spring, a day of summer, back to winter, etc...

And what I need in a job is something that is low stress. Where I won't wake up in a cold sweat after dreaming that I have not made tax payments.

I am happy for you. This was obviously a misfit for you as a job. Do not let creeping self-doubt make you feel like a failure. It sounds like it would take a person with lots of speed to do that job and you are more of a thinker and analyzer. zYou also helped Steve through a tight spot.

Well I do not know about obviously a misfit, but it certainly has stressed me out a lot.

coming home?

Yes, back to Colorado. I suspect I may never leave again.

Good. You gave it a fair go, and it wasn't working. Time to leave, and go somewhere where you at least feel comfortable. I'm just sorry that I probably won't get to see you before you go, as I'm pushing off again tomorrow for a couple of months.

Given how often you push off I think we would have an easier time meeting in the UK than here. <grin>

It's rather annoying that pretty much the entire time you've been in SF has been covered by me being away, recovering from being away, preparing to be away, and desperately trying to catch up on writing work that didn't happen because I was away. Since most of this has been directly or indirectly related to family members being ill, I am very much hoping for a slightly quieter life this year.

And we never did get to watch that anime DVD together...

I am sorry, I did not realize it was un-fun health visits.

Well perhaps if we're ever at the same convention I could bring along a DVD...
