1 Microwave Safe Bowl with at least twice the volume of the total volume of the oatmeal and water I will be putting in it.
1 cup oats
1 ¾ cups water

Combine ingredients and microwave for 3 minutes 44 seconds (Why that number, because it is slightly faster to hit another "4" than to hit the zero). Remove from microwave, stir. Add dried fruit or frozen fruit or (occasionally) a little milk. While microwaving the oatmeal I often do other things (like put away dishes) to make full use of my time. Total cost: ~$1.00 (one cup of oatmeal costs about $0.25 and a 16 oz package of blueberries on sale costs about $2.50 and can be used for five or more servings.)

Best frozen fruits:
Blueberries
Peaches
Mango
Cherries

Best dried fruits:
Apples (chopped)
Cranberries

Healthy, tasty, fast, what more could I want from breakfast?

Brrrrr! My tummy rebels at the idea of anything sweet that early in the morning. I cannot have doughnuts until after 10am.

Fabulously good brekkie, well done.

I like Fruit and Fibre, I like malty breakfast cereals, not too sweet. I have oatmeal too, in the winter when it's cold.

I think I remember eating a cereal called Fruit and Fiber. Malty stuff like Malto-meal was nice as well, that was my favorite next to Cream of Wheat.
