To the Citizenry of San Francisco, Oakland, and the Lands Surrounding the Bay

Hello Honored Sirs and Madams

I am pleased to report to the anxious multitudes that last weekend the Fannish Imperial Guard met as planned at La Note in Berkeley. The service was slow, they lost our ticket, and they tried to placate Supreme Commander Kate and myself with free seconds of alcohol. That mostly worked. Ambassador Calvin seemed quite amused at the frivolity that it inspired. He was the wiser party when we arrived at Other Change of Hobbit, he did not stay long in the store and thus avoided spending his food money on books and Kate and I did.

This week that Fannish Imperial Guard will meet for brunch as usual on Sunday at 11am. This week's location is Absinthe Brasserie and Bar 398 Hayes St. @ Gough St. in San Francisco. We try to follow a general rule of one side of the bay and then the other. The week after this has not yet been decided upon yet, but I will let you know at the first opportunity. Of course if you wish to attend you are always welcome.

I should be back in Mountain View by the end of the month, so may well appear at a meet sometime in October, should one be held on the SF side of the Bay...
