Sunday at Home
Aug. 31st, 2005 07:15 pmThere are two possible futures at this point and at a moment as yet to be determined they will collapse into the future that will be. In one I go to the Fannish Imperial Guard's Brunch in Home Restaurant at the corner of Market St. and Church at 11am this Sunday. In the other I will actually be at what might be called my home working away in my parents' basement to pack up clothes and other items for shipping or carrying to California.
Thinking thinking thinking about it reveals the thought that I have no real need to go get stuff yet since I am without a really permanent address as of yet. So I will put that off until sometime in October or possibly late next month. So my weekend plans include FIG as I expect will be the usual for my Sunday but other than that nothing in particular on tap for the three-day weekend. As far as I know BASFA is not meeting, which is unfortunate as this would have been the easiest meeting for me to try to attend (though still not a walk in the park).
I have an okay place to stay starting Saturday. It is not exactly a perfect situation as I have some reservations about the room. It is, however, likely to be better than a residential hotel the other option I was looking at for a short-term stay (3 month). Now all I have to do is figure out how I will get my own computer out here and when/if the trip back for clothes will happen on the weekend of the 10-11th of September. And the BotE (Back of the Envelope) budget on this location has me about $440 in the positive even if I do start saving $15.50 a month for donating to charity (that figure is expected to be about 5% of my truly disposable income once I have a place of my own).
So does anyone within sight of my words have any particular holiday weekend plans? Even if I cannot join you they might inspire me.
