Shredding the Past
Jun. 16th, 2005 03:27 pmI've just finished doing a rough sorting of three boxes of papers from my apartment. I have shredded many documents that have no relevance to me any longer and thrown away even more papers that are now useless but contain no personal information. Old convention fliers, paid bills, phone numbers of people I don't remember, and to do lists from years past, they're all gone now. Now I should start on putting away all the statements and such I have to keep for now. Though while I'm at that maybe I should get rid of anything older than seven years. I've no need to look back and see what my income tax statement said in 1995. Or for that matter does it matter what my bank balance was in 1991? I've not had occasion to look at them in more than a decade now, why would I in the future?
Moving on to the future I've no idea what I want to do this weekend or if I'll even head to town. There doesn't seem to be a point.
