Sunday of Mists
May. 30th, 2005 06:12 pmThere were still a few items to get from the apartment and besides I wanted to attend brunch. Which would be easy to do since I awoke at thirty minutes after seven on Sunday. I unloaded the remaining boxes in the truck to keep any possible rain off of them. The cool under the clouds helped, though I was still quite tired after I finished. Then it was off to my apartment to shower. Those few last items? Chief among them were all my shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, brushes, mouthwash, and other toiletries. So it was a critical trip from one standpoint.
The warm shower relaxed me and I had more than enough time to get in every little grooming task I'd had to neglect while working on shifting a metric ton of paper and other incidentals. After an hour (half of which was under blessed warm water) I was thoroughly clean, mercifully free of hangnails, and ready to start packing up the remaining artwork and to box the items I'd just used in the bathroom.
After all that I still arrived before anyone else at Goodfriend's Restaurant. It was a good brunch, I went overboard and had both the omelet special and French toast. The conversation was pleasant and then when I failed to find anyone to window shop with I wandered through a few bookstores, including Capitol Hill Books where I learned that Holly is buying it from Valarie, hence the retailer review. Also Fahrenheit's Books has moved three doors up Broadway to 52 Broadway and I'll have to do a review of the new space. Back to the apartment, packed up, and still home in time for dinner. And the rain washed a lot of the accumulated dirt and gunk off my car, so a good day.
