Stinking Trees

The breezes are cool and pleasant tonight, but they stink to heaven because the ailanthus trees are in bloom. Nasty horrible things. One of my regrets in buying my house was that I thought to myself, "Oh I can deal with it. It cannot be that bad." Bosh. I should have taken $10,000 off my offer because of the damn thing.

But on a positive side I did get my first salad out of my garden despite the heat. I hope there will be many more in the coming weeks, though I worry that with the blazing sun everything will bolt like the radishes are already doing. It is too damn early!
