Not Happy With the Choices
Jul. 2nd, 2008 05:32 pmI've attempted to read the rest of the Hugo nominees. I got all the way through The Last Colony and Rollback eventually. I think The Last Colony is the more fun read of the two, but both are clearly blown away by The Yiddish Policemen's Union. So much so that I'm going to rank "No Award" ahead of the rest of them. I really tried and could not force myself to finish either Halting State or Brasyl. I guess other Hugo nominators have very different tastes than my own or else this past year was a really bad one for speculative fiction.
