mishalak: A fantasy version of myself drawn by Sue Mason (Thoughtful)
Obviously I survived coming back from Athens, unlike how I felt at the time. I truly felt that I might find myself unable to breath due to too much mucus in my lungs and head. Of course that's how I usually feel when sick. My sweet boyfriend picked me up from the airport and I was with it enough to head to DASFA that very evening. Yes I am that much of a fan. James Van Pelt was a very good guest, I just wish I had been more able to focus on him at the time. And then I even went to the Dead Dog party for a full hour before returning home for much rest.

The next day, still feeling jet lagged and sick, I went to brunch. Yes. I did not think I was contagious any longer, just full of phlegm still. Never let it be said that I cannot be a trooper at times when there is something I want to do and I do not think I'm going to endanger others by doing it.

Over the next week I worked, though not enough, and finally got a date set for Comcast to come by to get me back on the internet. Along with help from Richie I got my computer moved to the apartment and it is set up. Though I still am very mildly worried about the lack of a ground (that's the third plug, distinct from the usual circuit of neutral and hot) being available on any of our outlets in the apartment. I have though as an extra safety measure I might run wire from some of the three to two adapters's ground tab to pipes in the apartment at least where I have some higher power items plugged in. I know under normal conditions the ground does nothing, but that's not what it is there for. It is there for abnormal conditions and I should like it to work if needed. And I have no idea of just screwing the tab to the center screw of the outlet would work because I don't know if the boxes are properly grounded. This is an older building after all.

There was also a birthday party with my father. I baked him a german chocolate cake (sucessfully) and me and Richie got him beer. We're also going to get him a program for organizing his DVD collection because he wants one. We just did not do it then because there seemed to be an overload of things going on. Richie was interviewed and got a job at a local salon the same day, making for an eventful week.

On Saturday (not this past weekend, the one before) he had my car due to his being worked on. I spent the day in even though I earlier planned to head to the Dragon Boat Festival and/or a friend's house. We also decided to skip on Rose's creativity night. But we were back in good form with brunch, I walked there with my friend Aran while Richie drove the car. It was a good walk, though longer than I anticipated. It is about 30 minutes from our apartment to Goodfriends.

In the week that followed Richie started his new job and I had some troubles of my own. The lead up to this past DASFA Alternate weekend was overwhelming for me.
