1 Microwave Safe Bowl with at least twice the volume of the total volume of the oatmeal and water I will be putting in it.
1 cup oats
1 ¾ cups water

Combine ingredients and microwave for 3 minutes 44 seconds (Why that number, because it is slightly faster to hit another "4" than to hit the zero). Remove from microwave, stir. Add dried fruit or frozen fruit or (occasionally) a little milk. While microwaving the oatmeal I often do other things (like put away dishes) to make full use of my time. Total cost: ~$1.00 (one cup of oatmeal costs about $0.25 and a 16 oz package of blueberries on sale costs about $2.50 and can be used for five or more servings.)

Best frozen fruits:
Blueberries
Peaches
Mango
Cherries

Best dried fruits:
Apples (chopped)
Cranberries

Healthy, tasty, fast, what more could I want from breakfast?

Today I wore a shirt of white on red end-on-end, which is to say that it is red with little points of red like
RRRRRRRRR

RRRRRRRRR
With this I wore plain black microfiber polyester pants that are rather unfortunate. Not totally ugly, but not quite as long as they should be and with a rather old fashioned cut involving pleats. Almost none of my pants are totally fantastic, so I need to get new ones. I am just not sure where I should go. I am sure there is somewhere I could go to get tailored pants and still come in at or under $55 pair, I just do not know where. Off the rack would be fine if I could get pants with a 33 or 34 inseam and a 30 or 29 waist, but I have pretty much never seen that.

Perhaps next weekend I shall go clothing shopping.

Short of the transporter what I want is a somewhat low cost, medium powered, low gas consumption car. Low cost to me is $10-18k, easily payable in five to seven years if I go on payments (and I might not even have to do that given my saving habits). Medium powered means that it can do at least 120kph (75 mph) on the straight and level and possibly even go up a mountain interstate at better than 100kph (62 mph). Low gas consumption is to me better than 40 miles per gallon. I would prefer it to have a small boot or storage compartment for me to carry two duffels and a small cooler.

Basically this would be used for the occasional trip to work when I planned on getting a moderate sized load of groceries and to get out of town on the weekend. I probably would not do this in SF given the parking situation here, it is probably still less expensive for me to rent a car to get out of town. (I just have to do it sometime.) But if I lived in Denver again I would need a weekend escape vehicle given how difficult it is to use public transit there, though with careful housing planning it could be done for work.

Inspired by mention of VW GX3 concept car on [livejournal.com profile] bovil's journal. The GX3 is close to my ideal, though the whole open cockpit thing is somewhat of a downer. 80 liter luggage space should be about enough for a Saturday night in the woods, though tight. If it just had some sort of optional bubble top for winter...
