I had an interesting experience last night. For my dessert I had a Cherimoya or Custard Apple. It was a very tasty fruit, though I think it will not become one of my favorites. It was very tasty, but it had a great many seeds. Plus I had a devil of a time trying to figure out if the one I picked out at the store was ripe or not and they are rather expensive due to their delicate nature.
That aside everyone ought to try one if the chance presents itself. It had a light delicate flavor and a texture similar to a banana. The flavor is also somewhat like a banana, but with a hint of a sour/floral flavor like apples and strawberries together. Or maybe pineapple.
I had this wonderful fruit shortly after I had a dinner of a sort of Mexican stir-fry. Chicken, tomatoes, hot hatch chilies, and onion. Not at all a bad combination in my opinion.
For today I have more chicken and lots of fruits and vegies that I picked up at various local markets. I've even got more peaches, the very last of the season.
