mishalak: A fantasy version of myself drawn by Sue Mason (The Prince)
I went to a book auction today. Much to my surprise I didn't buy a single thing. I was very disappointed by the selection. And I just feel quite off today. It is very hot here in Colorado. A-Basin Ski Area closed today as the last of their snow melted down in just a few hours. If it stays this hot we may yet get a bad fire season like the rest of the West.

Well at least I have most of July 4th to get this place in shape for my party on Saturday. A party will put me in a somewhat better mood. Though not totally since I have to work Sunday. Oh if anyone hears of a decent job I'll take it as long as it's not in America's third world (Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, or equivalently hot & miserable places). I love Denver but I think I might want to get out while I still have some money left.

Like almost everyone I have two little Id personification sort of things that sit on my shoulders. But unlike the trite devil and angel I've got Cheerful and Snarky.

Snarky is the sort that wants me to leave rancid mayonnaise on cars parked in handicapped spaces, steal from the stupid to give to me, and give a running tally of every boneheaded thing my employer does.

Cheerful is the sort that likes rainbows, hot cups of tea with honey, being kind to strangers, and think positive about my life.

It's not easy listening to Cheerful, it's so much easier to do something nasty and Wilde (sic). But this week it's been particularly hard, I swear that I've seen nothing of him. I need a good cheer infusion, stat! Either being in a bad mood has made it impossible for me to see him or Snarky has him tied up in a closet... Or possibly fed through a wood chipper. Snarky can be like that at times.

So now I need to launch a quest for find my Cheerful Sprite! Have you seen him? For I shall not rest until I am once again full of nice thoughts as well as vile plans for those I do not like!

Mishalak
From his fannish quest he's never strayed
At seducing males he's a Master
Beware the deadly flashing blade,
Unless you want to end up shorter.

Mish Adder, Mish Adder, he really likes to read!
Mish Adder, Mish Adder, he's very bad indeed.

Mish Adder, Mish Adder, with many an cunning plan.
Mish Adder, Mish Adder, you horrid skinny man.
(With apologies, I'm not good at filk)
