Kind, Wonderful, Brilliant Day

I had brunch with Robin D. Owens at Gemini Tea Emporium. She's a wonderful person and listened even as I babbled on for hours about writerly thoughts. She asked me about what to do about what she should be doing with her blog. I hope I was giving good advice and not speaking like I know something. Just trying to be reassuring that hardly anyone online gives feedback and that it should be a fun thing for a writer and not something to do as a chore.
She also suggested that one of things I burbled about sounded like it could work as a particular type of romance. I might think about that. It is nice that she's thinking though. It was a lot of fun to talk with her and I hope I was not overwhelming as I sometimes can be.
Afterwards I was off to All in a Dream (best comic store in Denver) for a long browse. And I had a very long chat about books and taste with the proprietor and got a recommendation to check out Fables when I'm flush again. By the time I got out of there it was time to head to Lakewood for dinner with my friends John, Robbin, and Libby. It was very good.
That was wonderful as well. Invited them all to my party next Saturday, of course. I had done so already, but never hurts to remind them.
Over the last few days I've remembered why it is I fight. It is not to live, it is for that quiet satisfied moment after dinner when drinking coffee (decaf). Total contentment. It is for drinking endless cups of tea in the morning over crepes filled with pear slices. It is for an ale (no hops) with a burger cooked on a back porch grill. Thanks guys.
