I went to see Sin City today. It wasn't bad, though it wasn't rapturously great. I suspect more than a few reviewers who panned it were reacting more negatively than they would have because of the fans raving about it. I went with John, Robin, and Libby. It was fun seeing off them again and then we had an excellent dinner of chicken on fruit salsa (must get recipe) with sides of rice and broccoli. I had a beer and it was good, though for some reason if I drink beer I seem to do better with the heavier ones. Otherwise after the first few sips it isn't as tasty. Too much of that sour fermented taste. And I am fairly sure it was not a bad beer as the brand was Sam Adams and I am given to understand that's fairly good. The last time I had a Guinness I enjoyed the whole thing, though I could not do more than one. The evening was rounded out with the pilot episode of Firefly. Serenity is a good episode.

I would stay up writing now, but I have a mind to maybe go to brunch tomorrow.

Sam Adams is the only American beer I've ever had that I like. I tend to like darker beers as well.

If you were anywhere near Colorado I would suggest you try Fat Tire as it's fairly similar. Guinness seems, to me, to have a smoothness to it in addition to the sourness. I'll have to keep trying things to see if I ever find a beer I'm enthusiastic about.
