Sooo... Does anyone know of a livejournal equivelent of rec.arts.sf.fandom (though hopefully without all the endlessly circling arguments between the Reds and the Blues) on livejournal? I am looking through the user information on various people I read or who read me to see what groups they are part of. I know about [livejournal.com profile] anonymousclaire and I think I'll start reading that again, but are there others? Particularly others where there will be more information about American fandom?

Actually the comments sections on Patrick's and Teresa's blogs are very much like RASFF, esp. T's. Do you need the urls?

I think I can find them... though if I don't find something else maybe I should encourage/participate in the starting of a group here. Maybe.

Yeah, but I'd rather find one if it exists. If I make a clone group it won't have anyone joining it.

Aside from a few YahooGroups LIsts (of which you are aware, I think), the only one I know of is the (not really LJ/blog) <http://trufen.net> . I don't find the format easy to navigate, and parts of it are quite ingroupish (More Fannish than Thou, as it were) &/or acerbic, but parts of seem to me to be excellent.

After finally not assuming that trufen.net was the same as the mailing list I was on a while back I found it is almost exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks!

Armoireman was talking at brunch about Metafilter and an even more specific thingie called Nerdfilter which basically bans religion and politics on the grounds that there are plenty of places on the net to argue interminably about those topics, and just leaves the cool weird stuff. You might check with him on that ... -Rose
