We had a very typical Colorado Halloween this year. I mean we got snow, major snow by the time I headed to work at about 9pm. It always snows on Halloween in Colorado, expect it and wear a costume with fake fur or the possibility of being able to layer things under it. I went to a Halloween party and felt alone in a crowd. I had a better time just dressing up and wandering to brunch on the actual 31st and then over to the Denver Botanic Gardens with Rose. The best part of my Halloween was getting all caught up on Lost. Now my break is nearly done so I shall be off to get another cup of herbal tea and looking forward to getting out of here in another hour and a half. I'm doing some major writing stuff so my posts might be rather terse for a while.

Oh and a thought inspired by a really bad movie. I'm going to whack some character that thinks that love is the strongest force in the universe with a case of gravity poisoning that love just won't overcome.

P.S. I was the Mad Hatter again today (yesterday, but it is still today for me) and the sculpture display at the gardens was pretty cool, though I liked looking at the plants even more. And it was fun to wear a top hat in a big green house. I felt like I should be carrying a gun with a brass telescopic sight and looking for pterosaurs.

Amen.

It's not that I don't think Thornton Wilder got it right in The Bridge of San Luis Rey, but...

I also tend to want to whack characters who say things in the vein of, after a death: "If we remember him/her, she'll live on."

In fact, I think my whole novel may be predicated on that desire. Hm. Hadn't realized that before today.

Sounds like fun. When can I read it? <grin>

Yes, indeedy. It was good to see you, and your vest and hat, at brunch.
