Dave looked up from reading his newspaper in the Ithill Coffee Shop (est. 1979). "Lars?"
"What Dave?" Lars responded absentmindedly as he read a book while draped over a chair with is head upside down. His crow, unnoticed by anyone, looked vaguely annoyed sitting on the chair's back.
"How did we get out of the Neversummer Distillery that morning when you dragged me over there to steal a barrel of whisky?"
Lars looks at you and says, "Well the writer got bored with the storyline so just assume there was a chase involving shotguns, rock salt, and fire."
"Wh't??" exclaimed Dave, "Writer?" He looks rather cute in a confused redhead sort of way.
"I was just breaking the fourth wall again. Pay it no mind."
"Oh." Dave's hindbrain decided that it was in the best interest of sanity to distract his conscious mind with the desire to have another cup of coffee while reading the entertainment section of the New York Times. He went to the counter for another cup and promptly forgot all about the preceding conversation, except for the sense that he should be upset at Lars for dragging him into dangerous misadventures.
