It took a long while, but the replacement battery is in and my car will now start. It definitely needed replacing since one of the terminals broke off during the removal of the old battery. I suspect that it may have been slowly leaking acid for a while for that to happen. Now I've been invited to come eat dinner with the parents. Being the kind of person I am I cannot refuse a free grilled steak, so off I go!

I would write a big long description of how one removes a battery, but since I've done things like this since I was very young I don't feel like going over it again. I work on my car, but I don't particularly like doing so.

Glad to hear you've got wheels again. Sorry it couldn't have been something cheaper to fix. Enjoy your steak.

It wasn't terribly expenseive. Just about $45 and lots of time. The steak was pretty good. Not what I remember though. Maybe my tastes have changed.

But at least you know what you are doing and not looking for the big on/off switch. *g*

Yes. But that fact can make me feel guilty if I don't do something myself. Like change my oil.
