Well my job is done and finished. I have to call in each day until the end of the year, but it seems unlikely that I will be headed back there. I'm not sure how I feel. I thought I had myself psyched up for searching for a new and better job. But it isn't easy to maintain such an attitude when actually faced with impending unemployment.

On the other hand within the minor constraints my time is my own to enjoy more leisure than I've had since I left college. I will be looking for a new job for the whole time, but given the time of year I'm not hopeful that I'm going to find anything before the new year. So I am going to keep in driving distance and head for short vacation; perhaps going to Carlsbad Caverns or New Orleans.

As part of the parting gifts from the company I got a gift card good at Marriott hotels. I certainly do not have to use it right away, but it is a possibility.

Tomorrow I take a few last pictures of myself before I get my hair cut short enough for job seeking. I'll be sad to have my hair go, but long hair is not conducive to well remunerated employment. I also go on half financial austerity tomorrow. So if I choose I can justify a thrifty holiday trip sometime after the Yule or I can husband my money that much longer.

To bed shortly. I'm trying to be in the habit of getting to bed before 11pm.

I wouldn't know until the last minute if I could go or not. Either I'll not have a job and will be moving into my parents' basement, I'll have a job and need to be working, or perhaps I'll have money and time. No way to tell at this stage, though I've no idea how I'd have money without working.
