Well this is ground that has been over many, many times before, so I won't say a lot. I enjoyed it, it was very good, and I am finally satisfied with some of the explanations for what the heck is going on. I am much happier after this book than I was after Goblet of Fire, though perhaps not quite as totally thrilled as I was after Prisoner of Azkaban.

I sorta guessed it might be Sirus who died (when I realized how close they were getting and from the hint that someone important dies) and it really saddened me when he did. It is a great strength of the Harry Potter books that they don't shrink from things like this. Harry made a bad decision, so did Dumbledor, they seem very real. It is very interesting to finally see a more human side of the Headmaster. He does in fact make mistakes and not everything comes prefect, he is no longer the remote and benvolent god sort of figure he was way back in book one. Rather like growing up and finding out some adult you admire isn't superhuman. I am looking forward to the rest of them. And there is even a good explanation for the living with the Dursleys! Very well constructed and written series.
