Checking Temperatures

I am being a bit of a mother hen tonight. I am checking the temperature of my ale far too often, I turned off the heat this evening because the temperature seems a bit high. Not outside the range, yet, but verging on it and so far it seems not to be coming down. 74°F at this moment despite the temperature of the house being 63°F. I am going to have some cheese and tea and hope in the next hour that it comes down just a bit.
