Updated Firefox, Deleted Old Programs
Jun. 18th, 2008 10:21 amWell I'm on Firefox 3 now and so far it lives up to the promises of faster and better. On my ancient Pentium 4 1.4Ghz it is not just noticibly faster, but startlingly faster. I am going to need to adjust my reaction times to the new speed at which things render and my inputs become visible on a text entry box. Before pages came up... fast. Not like waiting around for dial-up, but only fast. It would often be a second or two before everything came up. Now things are next to instant on all but the most complex of pages. Gmail is hugely improved by this. I recommend downloading and installing it soon as it is painless and improves things so much.
I also got busy and freed up something like half a gig of space on my computer by deleting old versions of java, deleting file folders for programs that I uninstalled years ago, and general clean up. So far so good, knock on wood. A defragmentation and a reboot and I should be pretty happy over all. Next up, see if I can fix my camera. After work.
