Very inexpensive supper. Take one can of chicken stock (purchased at Costco a long time ago for about 65¢) and add to it 3/4 that amount of water. Heat on the stove as you cut up one bunch of green onion (Sunflower Marker, 50¢) and one package silken tofu (Sunflower Market, 99¢). Finally add two or three allspice and some nori. Total cost just over $2.00, not bad. Any suggestions on a name? I was thinking Cazamir's Tofu Soup or else Polish Tofu Soup.

Polish Tofu Soup? Because of the chicken stock? It sounds good, did you toast the nori 1st or just crumble it in?

Think I may have beat you, just barely 8-)

1 bunch scallions - 20 cents
1 bunch baby bok choy - 15 cents
1 bunch young yu choy - 20 cents
2 tomatoes - 35 cents
1 New Mex green chili - 15 cents
clove of garlic - pennies
chunk of fresh ginger - ? 5 cents ?
about 1/8 lb ground lamb - 50 cents
cinnamon, cloves, turmeric, cumin, peppercorns, dried chili ? 5-10 cents ?

Veggies & tofu from one of the Vietnamese places around 12th & Jackson
Lamb & spices from Continental Spice, Groceries & Halal Meat.

Toast spices, chop veggies, grind spices. Cook lamb, part way in add diced ginger, garlic, and white part of scallions. Add spices and a little water, mix and heat. Add veggies and cook briefly.
