I've done them. And I've learned something very useful. H&R Block accepted my return information for free while TurboTax wanted to charge me. Why? I had a mutual fund transation during the year that resulted in a 1099-B for long and short term capitol gains. This was just me getting out of one mutual fund and into another. TurboTax didn't want to deal with this unless I paid and I certainly was not going to pay them to file for me (they wanted $17).

Additional notes for everyone else filing. GO TO THE IRS WEBSITE. Usually services for filing taxes will ask you to pay unless you select them from the IRS website on e-filing at http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html and select one of the services listed. Also note I could not find any that would file my state taxes for free, but in Colorado I was able to file directly through the Department of Revenue's site Netfile. I still need to mail my California taxes, because the state of California won't let me file online as someone who does not live in California. Well nuts to them, they can spend the extra money to process my return on paper and give me back all my money. I didn't earn enough last year to pay any state taxes.

Note there are pages out there with reviews of the various e-file services. There are some better than others. DO NOT BE FOOLED. If you earn less than $52K a year there is a service out there that will take your taxes for free if you look for it.
