Poor Old Doggie

I went home today for my dad's birthday party. It was a nice meal with the family, grandma, mum, dad, and sister. When I was finished I gave a bite of my pork chop to Max, the old family dog. He looked particularly poorly today. He's been sort of pining away for my brother since he died in February.
When I went to leave at 10:30 I found Max in the driveway, just lying there. He apparently had died about an hour earlier. I'm glad I gave him that pork, one last treat before he went. He wasn't my dog, and I'm not a big pet person, but it is a bit of passing. I had to help nurse Max after we got him. His mother had rejected him and so when we got him his eyes were still closed and we took turns with the bottle. Eleven years ago this month, I'm not surprised. He really was Stefan's dog to call and eleven is getting up there for a Rottweiler.
