Ah ramen, the food of the poverty stricken. I'm here at work having a cup of noodles for lunch. I get them in a giant package at Costco, so with the soy protein I add to them it works out to be a 25¢ lunch. As just a weird thing I think I'll keep track of what I eat in a week to show to the few doubters that I really do survive on more than seltzer and good intentions.

I halfway ate breakfast. I grabbed a medium sized glass of 2% milk once I got here and snacked on some cheese and bread. Now I’m having half a onion bagel and my poor me lunch. Though I should not be pitied, I choose to do this so that I can spend more on books and conventions. Though I have to choose between eating and fanac because I have such a lousy job. Still looking for a better one.

One of the good things about this job is that sometimes free food is bought to placate us for having to work weekends. That's where the bagels and milk came from. Free food has a great power over me, though not strong enough to keep me looking for something better.

I, having inherited some Scottish genes for thrift, often grab the leftovers after everyone else has gone home for the day. That and going to parties for the food help keep my expenses for food less than $150 pretty much every month. Must save money for Worldcon 2005!

On another note, I've been putting code in my links to make browsers open them in a new page, good idea or should I stop doing this? I try to be user friendly in my writing.
