Refusing to be the Taskmaster of Fun
Sep. 6th, 2006 12:47 pmI have been thinking a lot today about parties at conventions. About the things I do in general. The only reason to work hard at getting a party together is if it is something I want to do because it brings me pleasure no matter what the people who come think of what I do. And it doesn't. When I started planning this it was with ideas of being appreciated, to get to another goal, or whatever. I find now that those are hollow motivations, they don't move me. And I suspect I wouldn't want to be there with the people coming to my party. So therefore I won't do it. Instead I'll take my two friends, Rose and Richie, out for dinner and that will be that. I will enjoy my own alcohol and not share it with a bunch of locusts who would give lip service to appreciating me and go their merry way.
No party this year.
No party this year.
