Bug in Colorado
Jul. 5th, 2006 02:32 pmWell Bridget "Bug" Bradshaw will be in Colorado from afternoon July 31st to afternoon August 5th on TAFF. Being somewhat connected to everything learned about this and I offered to pick her up from the airport on that Monday afternoon. She's likely to be tired and want to do something quiet that afternoon. Going to coordinate with Kent & Mary Bloom and
vicarage on when they want to put her up and show her around.
Check out
taffbug for what she likes and dislikes plus the mostly latest news about her trip and itinerary. After consulting with them about which days they're free to do/arrange stuff I'll want to consult with fellow fan and fan like people around here about what we might arrange while she's here. She'll just be missing the DASFA Alternate Party on the 5th, but perhaps First Friday Fandom would be fun for her. Or else we could have a dinner out with fans some night that week.

Date: 2006-07-05 11:48 pm (UTC)We must show her the local rodents, prarie dogs are easy, chipmunks fairly so, but it might need a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park for the adorable marmots and the elusive pika. Moose would be good too.
For mountains, Pikes Peak and Mount Evans would be good. RMNP and Trail Ridge Road would be better, but its a long drive from where you are. Perhaps you could both come to Boulder midweek to see me and the delights of the Pearl Street Mall, stay overnight and then we could all go round the loop next day, dropping me off in Denver in the evening to catch the bus back.
I'd reccomend Victor as a great mining ghost town, but that's more a Colorado Springs thing.

Date: 2006-07-06 01:37 am (UTC)Getting her to your place is no problem; I think nothing of driving to Boulder from here as it's a trip I made many times in college. And I'd love to make a trek to the park, heck I might beg the use of my father's 4WD so that we could go up the more isolated Wagon road in the park and return on Trail Ridge if that would appeal.
Also there is a bus during weekdays that goes all the way from Boulder to the Tech Center every morning (the T) and of course the B as you mentioned. I'd love to do Pikes Peak, it's one of the few that I've never been up and it would make a good combination with Victor or the non-gambling parts of Criple Creek.
