Dream Log: San Francisco, City of Malls

I dreamed I was making my way back to my room here in San Francisco from somewhere downtown. Only the city had undergone a futuristic makeover. There were buses leaving from nearly every corner on the tangled streets amid the metal and glass towers. The only trouble was that any particular line came very occasionally and bus lines that went to relatively the same place had different departure points. There were also lots of streetcars on different levels, I saw them passing from pedestrian bridges before they entered tunnel networks. And instead of concrete sidewalks there were the slightly metallic blue tiles everywhere that were very clean. It was like being inside a giant mall, yet in most places I was totally outside. I started walking out of frustration as the city started to close up for the night.
