Castro Ramblings

mishalakTonight I saw Calvin in his finest form. He was fearlessly dancing at The Café club/bar and introducing people to each other at the same time. He will talk to anyone and because of that he brings people together. I'm glad to have him as a friend.
And also he introduced me to this cute French guy, Max, whom he is a friend of. Along with an adorable lesbian named Patrice he met at Folsom street fair we had dinner at the Thai place next door to Badlands here in the Castro. It was a very good meal and Calvin insisted on picking up the tab (that wins big points from my money loving heart).
I really admire how unselfconscious or concerned with how he might look Calvin is on the dance floor. I think too much about what I am doing, though I must admit after a while I did eventually get into a pure dancing headspace where it was mostly just me and the beat without thinking about how goofy I might look making a particular move. I feel like I got entertainment and exercise in one place for only the price of a whiskey and soda.
A good evening. Except for the ringing in my ears from the loud music. Must buy earplugs for random evenings out on the town.
Tomorrow I think I will go to Treasure Island on the Emperor's Bridge.
