Good things about San Francisco
Sep. 2nd, 2005 10:38 amLike many very large and densely populated cities a person can find things here not available elsewhere without the internet. And that is something good because no matter how great the internet is at bringing stuff to your door it is still much better to see it in person and it is easier to know that it exists. It is one part climate that they have farmers' markets around here all year long, but it is again the nature of SF playing a part as well. This is a city of foodies and so there is a bit more selection here than in Denver. For its size and the traffic conditions the local transit system is not great, but in comparison to Denver it is lovely. I can actually get around without a car and that is terribly good since I do not think I could handle or afford owning one here. But then I did not like driving very much in the relative sanity of Denver. There are also so many things to do here that I think a television is largely superfluous. I am certainly not going to bring or get one, I am just going to use my computer to watch the occasional movie on my own. And unlike Denver the houses in the city itself are not boring crackerboxes.
I felt that I needed to write about the positives since I just went off on some of the negatives of the city earlier.
