Their tacos are pretty good; I had two with a random person I met off the internet last night. The total cost was fairly reasonable, $7.55 for a fish, vegetarian, and a domestic beer (Sierra Nevada). Non-greasy, fresh ingredients, my only criticism had to do with the place often confusing orders and it being hard to understand the heavily accented English of the cooks/servers at the counter. It was also very crowded and this was part of he long wait for food, but that probably cannot be helped much at any place serving a decent meal in the mission where there are so many young people who don't wish to cook dinner.

I will also note that their salsa verde that is labeled medium hot is pretty darn spicy. I will have to eat there a few more times before I can give a more in depth review.

I'm so jealous, I loved it out there. *sigh* Why are all the places I'd like to live the most expensive?

You've not been paying attention to my journal. Being in a big city like this offers certain opportunities and I'm going to look on the bright side, but I would never have moved here if not for a job. Looking on a big picture from weather to danger to the total lack of friendly gay people (aside from the ones that want to get in your pants) this is not a great city. I would put SF somewhere in the bottom third of places for gay men to live, not the least of which is because a quarter to a third of the gays here are HIV positive. Do not wish you were here.

But it's so pretty...

And I disagree about friendly gay people. I had a nice guy buy me a drink who was clearly not trying to get in my pants.( He was out with his boyfriend.) Surely all the smiles from the locals weren't just about me being a tourist with money to spend?

As for not reading your journal... I barely have time to read my own, let alone my "friends" page. But I'm sure you still have legions of fans to pay you all the attention you could ever want or need.

(Note: That is humor, attempted if not actual. I realize you don't write for attention. You just have a way of attracting it)

The natural setting is quite spectatular and the city isn't bad. But honestly I've met like two guys who were not trying to get into my pants when they were all friendly.

only slightly related to this post...

Do you know about the lj community called food porn? It's strictly food and cooking related.

As much as you like food and cooking/baking, I thought you might enjoy it. :-)
