Weekend Questions
Aug. 19th, 2005 05:55 pmWhere will I go? What will I do? Who will I see? And the answer to most of these is, "I don't know." I have pretty much decided to not go to the Harrison Street Fair this weekend, it sounds just like Folsom with more people who will assume that I am into guys so large I'd be crushed if I had sex with them. And despite piercings and an inordinate like of leather pants I am not part of the leather wearing clique. It is really like how I like science fiction a lot more than the average citizen, but it is not a lifestyle with me. Nothing wrong with people who are deeply into it, heck I like a fair number of them as friends, I just feel like I am a little to broadly focused to be one of the core members of fandom or whatever.
I am, however, trying to figure out how to get to the PenSFA meeting on Saturday. It is all the way down in Redwood City and while I can ride CalTrain there it will be an interesting adventure doing so and likely to be costly from my vague memories of using it three years ago getting to San Jose. And I dearly wish that there were some sort of unified bay area transit card so I did not have to buy a new ticket for every transfer. My wallet is going to be full of them what with my MUNI monthly pass, my current BART card, and whatever other ones I have to buy to get around. Definitely going to buy just a ticket if I can get away with that.
But I still have no plans for tonight particularly and nothing tomorrow despite all the apartments/rooms I need to go look at. Speaking of which I should call another one. Give me a call if you want to do something.

Transit card
Date: 2005-08-26 02:59 am (UTC)BART Plus is accepted on Muni, SamTrans, Santa Clara VTA, and several other transit systems, though not AC Transit, the rats. It is semi-monthly, though, and the cheapest is $38 (which includes $15 in BART fare), but if you're using the other systems a lot, it's worth it.
