deHavilland Vampire OverflightThe DeHavilland Vampire is a very interesting looking aircraft. I took this photo and it came out... so-so, but that's to be expected at an airshow. Despite what I said I did go for a while and had an okay time. Though now I need to play catch up on getting work done on the books.

They're were still a few of them flying as base hacks when I did my 1st tour in the UK. Neat plane but very intensive to maintain wise and damn noisy. I gotta admit my fav UK jet war-bird is the Vulcan bomber, IMO just one of the most beautiful planes ever to fly.

A wonderful aircraft, nice to see a few of them are still airworthy.

While looking up how to spell deHavilland I learned that there are still about 80 Vampires that are airworthy. And ever since I heard the name I keep wondering if I can't work one into a story somehow.

I tried to think of a way to justify putting a vampire in the seat of a Vampire to do something, but I just couldn't come up with one. I mean for any of the private uses I can think of involving vampires just using a machine gun or else some sort of high explosive would be enough. Not to mention overkill. And as an escape vehicle it would not seem to have anything to recommend it over private jet. At least now that a private individual could get his hands upon one.

But still it was so very cool.
