To offer this for just 24 hours while I'm unemployed. Bastards! Well I do have enough money in the bank. It is just that is is such a frivolous purchase. And I'd have to keep using LJ for the next six years to make it cost effective. Arrereaarrg!

Darn permanent account sale tempting me.

For me, it's only four and a bit years -- the paid account + userpics = $35. Of course, that's just the economic reasons for buying a permanent account. The fact that it's really cool is outside the calculation.

I make it 6+ years? $25/year paid account vs. $150 permanent account - ignoring time value of money, you're coming out ahead by the end of 2011.

Oh, yeah - I'd be buying one myself, except I can't afford it today. :-(

Maybe next time!

Yeah I figured that out in the shower after I'd posted. Thing is will I still be doing this in six years? I've only been going for two so far.

Yes, the cruelty is unbelievable in their timing. In one week I would have the money for about a week before it was spent on necessary expenses (like registering the car, paying the electric bill, etc., etc., etc.) but as [livejournal.com profile] folk says above, it would pay off in just over four years for me ... and as I've already had a journal for 3 years as it is and have over a year's paid time ahead of me. {shrugs} It would be worth it for me. As the conversation with my husband went yesterday ...

"Oh woe is me."
"Annabel, you'll just get one the next time they sell them."
"Yes, but woe is me." {puts on the take me seriously voice}
"Whatever, dear."
