Facts and Figures
Nov. 7th, 2017 07:40 pmTonight was the night of bottling and starting. Eight 333 ml bottles of mead put up to carbonate and about the same amount of apple cider started in a glass jug. Getting mead out of a glass jug was a crazy pain involving a siphon and boiled water to get it started, but it worked. Only a little was spilled and I had to drink what would have been the ninth bottle since it was only two-thirds full. Tragedy, but not a major one.
Now a name. A name, a name, a name. You may imagine me rubbing my temples as I attempt to come up with an appropriately fun name for this. Perhaps Blazingstar? A very simple low alcohol drink. Just water, yeast, honey, and three cardamom pods.
330 g. honey
13 cups water
pinch of salt
3 cardamom pods
primed with 27 g honey
130 ml water
